My Feet Should Be Killing Me But ...

Category: Randomly

If the magnitude 6.7 Taiwan earthquake disrupted internet activities as noted in neighborly sites (meaning regional Asian) these past few days, I didn't notice it. For me, it was the usual suffering with dial-up courtesy of my oftentimes regretfully crappy internet provider that became a little bit more, so I'm used to it.

As I speak, my connectivity is still tantamount to a drunken crawl, like 3 tablespoons per minute, which is just as well. Because now is a great time as any to pick up one's bearings after all that holiday mad-rush which one would find literally painful to the shoulders and feet.

Which is why Luisa, our faithful home helper and companion, who has magical hands for the good of achy feet, is a God-send this morning. With Vicks VapoRub and light but deft fingers, she majorly relaxed what felt like knots at my lower extremities with her touch. In theory, I think that she's got it all quack-doctorly in how she perceives these aches and pains to come about. 'Ma'am, it's all 'lamig' (chill)' concentrated on your feet!'. Whatever, she and her magical hands are the perfect antidote for an over-tired, over-partied, and over-eaten holiday reveler and I told her that. Which is good because the smile that brought about secures that I will be getting just as much relief for post New Year merry-making shoulders and feet.

Hey there!

Your site is so well-designed-- love the balloons! Thanks for stopping by although I kind of wish you had found me on a better day-- I'm not usually so cranky, well, okay, I lie-- so at least 51% of the time I'm not . . .

Cheers, bluepoppy

Hi poppycock! Love the balloons! They are so festive at this time of year. Actually they are fastive at anytime of year.

For some reason I feel we have met before. Perhaps because of your picture on the top left of your blog. Is that you? It's a beautiful picture.

Glad your feet are feeling better. I think i will ask my friend to give me a foot massage this evening. He is coming by to cook me dinner for my belated Christmas gift. Glad to hear you are safe and sound after the earthquake. i have a friend teching ESL in Taiwan.

Hope your internet speed picks up soon.

Nice to meet you and hope you have a wonderful New Year ;)

happy new year, jessica :)

nice of you to come by, thanks. you know i lurk in your blog a lot and i wanted to make it more permanent and linked to you, if you don't mind :)

unfortunately, the extent of my similarity to the beautiful person in the picture is my hand, maybe the hair, which is kinda deceiving, i know ;) come new year i'll put up a real photo and put a stop to the deception..

hi Mrs.P,

Aaaah isn't it good to have a foot massage. That's always a special treat I give my wife when she asks for one. That's all a housedad can do for a working mom. Will be waiting for a lovely photo like you promised ms. doyle. Have a Happy New Year!
