Blogging
Whenever I begin to assemble a post, a few things are thrown in to the process. First, is it going to be cute or about quality? Is it gonna be honest or is it gonna be pretty? Is it gonna make me look good or will I let on to the fact that I am really boring? Where to begin? How to end. All these, brought about by the rankling urge for narrative, then I end up with an entry.
Pressing 'publish post' is a persistent anxiety that needs to be scratched, compelling one to do more frequently, even at times, not really commensurate to one's actual capacity to turn out a post worthy. It is like working through the meanderings of a beginning headache, where the pill is to tell a story and be heard.
Writing my small vignettes here is no great shakes, yet here I am, with angst and all, wondering how to keep up because I want to. The sense of pleasure and accomplishment that comes with looking over past postings is not unlike leafing through a dog-eared, well-filled notebook. It is a sort of a kinky pleasure that justifies all that time you are distracted and preoccupied typing on your PC, to the consternation of husband and impatient restlessness of kids who are waiting for their turn to livejournal.
For whatever it's worth, this is really a tribute to all the efforts of other bloggers who, amazingly, turn out post after post of inspiration, entertainment and valid information, with full disclosure that makes you appreciate for being found worthy, with brilliant talent for making words those words leap out and come to life, with broad knowledge and keen analyses on the issues of the day, with irrepressible humor to perk up a rock-star following, with fool-proof recipes to impress the famille, the list is long.
The best thing about blogging, for me, is giving in to the urge of pleasuring yourself with a good, well-crafted post, with the next best thing being, having all these other great blogs to read. In this case, we have the best of both worlds, affirming the fact that time spent away to blog is really time well spent. So if you will excuse me a moment now, I will have go tell my hubby on that brilliant epiphany.
