Readability

Category: Blogging

I've been blogging here for about 4 years now and I like it enough to keep on doing still. Occasionally I OCify on the template to make it pretty enough for myself and others to stay for at least longer than the time it takes to load the page. I also mind to try to be even mildly interesting and not to ramble on till I'm deathly boring. Or at least to my mind.

And then I came upon this content readability test which does not claim to be accurate, but rather a rough guide as to indicate whether 'you've pitched your content at the right level for your intended audience' which I've always wondered about this blog so I checked.

This blog scored 10.8 on the Gunning-Fog Index which can mean it is readable to TIME and Wallstreet Journal subscribers. It also hit an average of 63.85 on the Flesch Reading Ease, where authors are encouraged to aim for a score of approximately 60 to 70 to be understandable. Furthermore it made 7.63 on the Flesch-Kincaid grade level which means this should be readable to a person who's had 7 years of education, which really counts everyone in, which are not very bad scores I think. Then, I've reason to be blogging as usual. Hooray!
