'The Name's Still Bond ...'

Well, now, a lot of people are eating their words, I suppose.

James 'Bland', to call Daniel Craig's fresh, radical take on Agent 007, is a serious misnomer. He may not be glam-boy-pretty but he's certainly far from dull.

All these years, I've never seen James Bond with hair ruffled, all-bloodied and unglossified as now, it's true, but at least I've confirmed that it's not battery fluid, but real blood bursting through the man's veins.

The blonde, blue-eyed Daniel Craig has an intense, unsettling sexiness about him that makes his Bond naturally 'wear his suit with such disdain.' How very manly that is. And it doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't look good in it, but quite the opposite in fact.

As a younger Bond, he seems to have a natural disdain for most things, including the Aston Martin DBS that he unflinchingly crashed to avoid running over a loved one. Too bad that for a fabulous car, it was a short-lived issue, as was the loved-one. But at least it served the purpose, as his disdain goes for all opponents, to whom he is uncompromising and merciless. He is licensed to kill, after all.

Incidentally, the first time I recall ever having heard 'I love you' spoken by Agent 007 is also the reason why the man is the way he is with women, like in all other movies I've seen of him -- glib, slippery and transient. No wonder that the only constant with the guy, and his libido, is the glass of martini.

Whatever it is, this roughshod James has got me paying attention, and I only have pity for the myopic fans who are missing the boat on the brand new, sexy Bond. As for me, I got the makings of a die-hard 007 fan from hereon because he's gotten more flesh and real. Best of all, It's Craig, Daniel Craig. What a man.
