Decisions, Decisions

Everyday we are faced with the task of making decisions. At the rate we practice, it is still not uncommon for us to grapple over the smallest choices we have to make. Red or blue? Red, definitely. No, on second thought, it's better blue. But then red seems to be it, don't you think?. Or better yet, make that blue....

So many times we agonize over making the 'right' choice over things which don't really make for a right or wrong. What to eat, where to go, what to wear, who to call, how much, how little, yes, no, it goes on and on. You see, it's not like everything involves life and death issues although we are faced by major ones from time to time. Even so, it all boils down to choosing what we think is best or pleasing for us. Yup, not for the whole planet. Just us.

Sometimes we have to make a leap of faith and trust our own intuition. Unless we are small kids, natural born idiots or are proven to be clinically insane, I think our choices should be good enough for us and for the busybodies around who think that they have a say on what we choose to do or not to do with our lives (unless we give them license to do that of course). Why, come to think of it, even little kids practice their own decision making and seem to be more firm on what they want a lot of times compared to us grownups. Of course theirs is a more uncensored, unbiased, unjaded, unlearned, uncorrupted way of thinking. Like to choose the right color or candy or toy does not have to be too difficult for fear of not being politically correct, right? Of course this is way simplifying the thought process but when you start making it complicated, that is where the indecision arises. You know sometimes I envy the innocence of children. And that is why the last thing I ever want to be is a politician.

War or no war? It shouldn't be an option to begin with. I trust my intuition on this. And my name isn't George W. Bush.
