Politically Incorrect
I looked back at past entries and thought, What is happening to my life? If I were to go by what I blogged about all the time, it seems that I'm living so simply, cloistered in my small, snug world of family and friends, and totally detached from the world outside.
I asked a person in the past - 'What else do you want to be apart from what you are today? He answered -'I want to leave a legacy to my family and make a contribution to society'. Wow! That floored me and made me feel very selfish and insignificant. I reacted that way because his is quite a noble cause to life, arousing envy in me. Can I be that way? Do I even want to be that way? It sounds just like in the movies.
Today, war in Iraq is impending, North Korea seems as a very big threat. Israel and Palestine are at it everyday, a never ending story it seems. Thousands dying from the cold in India and elsewhere in Asia, millions dying of AIDS in Africa. A bleaker economic forecast for the world. Bleaker. It gets worse. These things are in my face everyday, on CNN, whenever I open the papers ( a habit i'm trying to unlearn ). It is so frustrating that if I were to be asked on how I can do my bit as citizen of the world, I wouldn't know how to answer. I've yet to think about it ... yes, I believe I'm politically incorrect.
